First Place: Polished Overlays / Over 5000 SF

Although this project was originally designed for polished concrete, it was clear the finish would result in too many inconsistencies. Bay Area Concretes recommended Aggretex to produce a consistent finished product. The result was a look of standard polished concrete, but with more balance and consistency.

The Aggretex floor spans over 220,000 SF. Reflecting a continuous triangular pattern, nearly 16 miles of stainless steel strips were inlaid between the gray and white terrazzo finishes. Challenges included terrazzo cove base in the kitchen and poured-in-place Terrazzo stairs finished with slip resistant strips.
